Rachel is borderline bitch, has serious attachment and trust issues, is pretty insecure and snarky as hell. She's not entirely likeable, but I liked her anyway. Would have loved Ryan's POV on this as she seems like a truckload of work.
I loved her absolute lack of football knowledge, as it meant we could be confused together (my knowledge of American football boils down to guys with shoulder pads ramming into each other on a field, running around clutching a ball - oh, and there is something called touchdown)
Obviously it's a romance, so the basic story doesn't deviate from the mould too much, but I really enjoyed it. I liked the banter, snark and snideness, and a big HOORAY for the lack of insta-love, though there was a bit of insta-lust. I liked how they bickered, knew each other's weak spots, and had preconceived notions about each other, which changed naturally as they got to know each other better. I also really liked a big, hulking man's man hero that was NOT a complete alpha male, with insecurities of his own. Not sure how realistic the wholesome, sweet group of football players was, but it worked for me.
