Reading progress update: I've read 228 out of 390 pages.
Was there an author-change last chapter? Is it me - did I become a different reader? There was a rythm to the story that wasn't bad (if you skimmed the overlong parts on detailing Cory's baseball games). Rett's emotional state was driving this, mostly through his actions and what he says. And there was dialogue between the characters. Now? Not so much - it has taken a definitive step into "screw show, I am so going to tell"-land. And every now and then half paragraphs are from somebody elses POV. What gives?
